Wild Quakers [by buff]

General Chit Chat:: Wild Quakers
In the 1970's I kept double yellow heads and love birds. I also still have a flock of peacock that I have maintained since 1973. Lately I have had the thought to establish a wild flock of Quakers. In addition to Florida and California, there is supposed to be a wild flock in Houston that is thriving. And, I have read that parrots quickly adapt to the wild. Does anyone think that this is possible or even a good idea. I understand that Quakers are endangered in their home country.

Registered User Introductions:: Looking for Macaws
Hello,
I just joined this club, and saw where you are looking for a Macaw. Well, I don't have a mutation or a greenwing, but I have a gorgeous less than two year old Bolivian Scarlet Macaw for sale. She is just a baby, but she is HUGE and she is a real clown. She talks some, she would talk more if someone had more time than I do to work with her. She is very tame, very friendly, and goes to a Certified Avian Vet for everything. She is in full feather, but clipped, she is trained to the Aviator Harness and loves to go outside and walk around in the grass and dig in the dirt. The only reason I am selling her is that I am getting more into breeding, I breed Pyrrhura Conures, and I want to start breeding African Greys. This bird is healthy and has no bad habits. I would make a good deal to the right person who would give her a good loving home, and she comes with a large cage, Birdie Butler, toys, the works. She eats a seed mixture and Roudy Bush pellets plus a lot of fresh fruits and veggies. She really loves Corn on the cob.
If interested, you may email me at dmegginson@charter.net or call me at 361-386-0300.
Thank you,
Diana
www.critterstuffandmore.com
Breeding Pyrrhura Conures with Love.

General Chit Chat:: Hurricane Ike!

Hello everyone,

If you can please post and let us know that you are OK! My email server is down but I can get online every once in awhile! I'm really worried about all of you! So please if you can please leave a post and let us know that you are safe and if you need anything!

Larry and I stayed home our home didn't have any damage, but his office in Beaumont has quite a bit of damage. My cell phone took a swim in a bucket of water, I can receive calls but not text messages and I can not access my address book on the phone. So, I'm waiting for the Verizon Store in Beaumont to reopen so that I can get a new phone. I know that quite a few people have massive damage. I'm really worried about Billy Fontenot and his family from Bridge City, John Metiver from Orange, Kathy McGuire, Shirley Pearson, Brenda Hebert. Just to name a couple as they live in some of the hardest hit areas. If anyone knows how these people and their properties are please post!

Hugs,

I don't think that the greenwings are still available. But I do know that he has a very sweet Blue and Gold. But I may be wrong. The breeder that Bill represents has babies quite often, if Hurricane Ike didn't mess them up too badly.

Hugs,

For Sale:: Looking for a good home
Hello,

My name is Madalyn Ard and I live in College Station, Texas. I would like to find a good home for a shaft-tail Finch and a Peached-Faced lovebird. ( I think they are both males, not sure however) Both birds are in good health and about two years old. I acquired both birds a year ago from my mother, and due to my work and school, I just cannot give them the adequate personal attention. Furthermore, I do not know how to tame or breed birds. I keep their cages very clean and try to keep them comfortable. But they belong with someone else.

If anybody is interested in these birds, or if anyone knows of a place that would be interested in taking these birds, please let me know.

I will give anyone who is interested in taking them the cages and food. I do not want to sell the birds. I just want them to have a good home.

If interested, please contact me at madalyna@tamu.edu

Thanks,
Madalyn
