Hello everyone,

Just a quick reminder that our monthly meeting is Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008. I hope that everyone is somewhat recovered from the effects of Hurricane Ike.

Our meetings are held at the Church of the Living God, located at 5770 Concord Road in Beaumont. The Church of the Living God is located directly behind the Target Store on the Eastex Freeway in Beaumont.

Also as a reminder all of our meetings are potluck dinners! We try to start the meal portion of our meeting at 7:00 P.M. with the business portion starting at about 7:30 P.M.

We will be trying to finalize the 2008 Bird Fair and start the committees for the 2009 Bird Fair as the 2009 Bird Fair is April 18th and 19th, instead of August.

In addition we will be taking nominations for our 2009 officers that are up for election which should be Vice-President (Bill Christian), Secretary (Dorothy Crocker), 2 Board Members (Gary Barnett & Linda Christian) & Junior Board Member (Brian Barnett)

We will also be discussing the South Texas Avian Symposium and Parrot Festival.

Please remember that if you bring a prize for our donation table, you get a free ticket for each prize that you bring.

Also that we have an on going food drive and that the holidays are approaching and that Hurricane Ike hit the agencies that depend on food donations drastically.

As always guests are more than welcome! The more the merrier!

Hello everyone,

I know that some of us were lucky to come out of the Hurricane with little damage and that some have lost everything. I've created a place in the message boards for everyone to check in and let us know how you are doing! If you get a chance please check in and let us know how you are and if there is anything that we can do to help.

We have had offers from several people if you need to foster your birds for a time being, or if you need to transport your birds to another location. Please let us know, we have had several offers to help.

We are concerned for all of our community.

Hello everyone,

Due to the impending threat of Hurricane Ike, Jefferson and Orange Counties have just called a Mandatory Evacuation of their counties. Therefore we've canceled our meeting scheduled for tonight.

We're very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Hello everyone,
Just a quick reminder that our monthly meeting is this coming Thursday, September 11, 2008. Our meetings are held at the Church of the Living God, located at 5770 Concord Road in Beaumont, Texas. The Church is located directly behind the Target Store on the Eastex Freeway in Beaumont.

All of our meetings are potluck dinners, the dinner portion of our meetings start at about 7:00 P.M., with the business portion of our meetings starting at 7:30 P.M. If we have a speaker they will start shortly thereafter. This month we hope to have the wrap up from our Bird Fair and Expo.

If you wish to participate in our monthly door prize drawings, and you bring a door prize, you get a free door prize ticket. Also please don't forget our ongoing Food Drive, as the holidays are getting close.

As always guests are more than welcome! The more the merrier!

Speakers from Texas A & M including Drs. Ian Tizard, Sharman Hoppes, Donald Brightsmith, and Patricia Gray will address current topics in avian medicine, research and conservation.

· "You Be the Vet" challenge

Hello Everyone!

Please do not forget our 15th Annual Bird Fair & Expo coming up on Saturday and Sunday, August 16th & 17th, 2008! Admission is $5.00 per person, children under 12 are free! The doors open at 9:00 A.M. each day and close at 5:00 P.M. There will be vendors for Cages, Toys, Food, Birds and more! Door Prizes and Drawings! Come out to the Robert A. "Bob" Bowers Civic Center in Port Arthur, Texas and enjoy the fun! Come and stock up on your supplies!

Everything for birds from Finches to Macaws!

Lifeshare Blood Center will be there from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. each day, donate blood and get a free admission to the Bird Fair!

Hello everyone,

Our next meeting is Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Church of the Living God, located at 5770 Concord Road in Beaumont, TX.
The Church of the Living God is located directly behind the Target Store on the Eastex Freeway in Beaumont.

We will be having a Board of Directors meeting prior to our regular meeting. The Board of Directors meeting will start at about 6:00 P.M.

Our regular meeting as usual will be a potluck dinner, the dinner portion of our meeting starts at 7:00 P.M. with the business portion of our meeting starting at 7:30 P.M. If we have a speaker they will start shortly there after.

We have door prize drawings, if you participate by bringing a door prize you get a free ticket for your participation.

We also have a food drive that we carry on monthly.
